Speaking at the Cinnamon Club, the former banker declared that she would not be the candidate for the rich; ‘the richest people in Britain will not be my priority’. Just a few days into the official campaign for the Holyrood elections and Ruth Davidson has had to change her tactics. The shaming of Lord Sewel was a classic tabloid exposé. The fact that a peer of the realm (albeit one appointed by Tony Blair) was caught on camera apparently ingesting Class A drugs in the company of prostitutes is a good enough story in itself.
