It is undeniable now: war has been declared on British Jews. A fascistic crusade is being waged against our Jewish compatriots. The anti-Semitic atrocity in Golders Green today is further brutish proof of this unsettling fact. We’ve had firebombings at synagogues, the murder of Jews in Manchester on Yom Kippur, and now this frenzied knifing of Jews in London. There can be no more equivocating – this is a moral emergency.
The most sickening thing about today’s knife pogrom is that it was entirely predictable
The scenes from Golders Green are truly grim. Video clips show the suspect wielding his knife with demented fury at two visibly Jewish men. One is reportedly in his 70s, the other in his 30s – both sustained serious injuries, but are reportedly in a stable condition. Their crime? They were out, proud Jews on the streets of London in 2026.
If this doesn’t force a moral reckoning with the state of our nation, nothing will. The pessimist in me is not holding his breath. After all, mere hours after the slaying of two Jews at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester in October, bourgeois mobs were on the streets hollering ‘Globalise the intifada’. Two dead Jews weren’t enough for them, it seems – they wanted more, they wanted the destruction of the Jewish state itself.
Or consider the snivelling silence of progressives as two London synagogues and a Jewish charity were subjected to attempted firebombings over the past fortnight. Self-styled ‘anti-fascists’ were shamefully schtum in the face of those 1930s-style abominations against London’s Jews. Not one ‘progressive’ foot hit the streets of our capital in protest against these fiery assaults on the city’s Jews.
And it was only last month that four Hatzola ambulances were set alight, also in Golders Green. It was Hatzola staff that rushed to the scene of today’s barbarous knifing. Just think about this: bloodied Jews being tended to by volunteer staff who saw their own ambulances incinerated by arsonists just five weeks ago. Is this London? A city where Jews are attacked and the life-saving services that might save them are put to the torch? It is obscene. No Brit of fair conscience can tolerate this.

Every Jewish friend of mine has told me they foresee violence against their community. They knew something like Heaton Park was going to happen. They knew their synagogues were at risk of attack. And today’s events, too, will shake them but not shock them. Here’s the question, then: why did we not listen?
The Jewish community has been dismissed time and again by the self-styled progressives of civil society. Jews begged those armies of bourgeois Israelophobes to stop chanting ‘Globalise the intifada’, rightly pointing out that it was a cry for violence against Jews, but they were ignored. They warned that the demonisation of Zionists as genocidal scum would hang a target sign around the necks of Britain’s Jews, most of whom identify as Zionists. Yet they were told to shut up, stop being shrill, stop ‘weaponising anti-Semitism’ to silence ‘criticism of Israel’.
That has been the left’s ruthless response to worried Jews – not sympathy, far less solidarity, but cynicism and berating. They accused Jews of hyping up the anti-Semitism crisis in order to protect their precious Jewish state from criticism. Translation: you are exaggerating the threat you face in the service of your dual loyalty to a faraway demonic entity. This callous dismissal of Jewish fear has been one of the most unseemly, immoral sights of our time.
Worse, it has emboldened the enemies of the Jews. The more that ‘respectable society’ writes off Jews as hyperbolic self-pitiers, as sly silencers of ‘criticism of Israel’, the more it incites their fanatical haters. You’re right, these ‘progressives’ essentially say to violent anti-Semites: Jews are an untrustworthy people whose chief aim is to muzzle your righteous criticism of Israel. This demonisation of Jews by polite society, however unwitting, has been unconscionable. It has endangered our Jewish friends.
Enough is enough. Jews should not have to fight any more for the right to to be free and equal Britons. That is now a task for us non-Jews. It now falls to us to call out the fashionable love for ‘intifada’, the frothing demonisation of the Jewish state, the heartless dismissal of Jewish concerns, and the disgusting silence that followed all those racist atrocities against British Jews and their institutions. Jews in Britain have proven they are good citizens – it now falls to Gentiles in Britain to prove we want them to stay. Who’s in?
