When will Meghan Markle bring ‘As Ever’ to Britain?

As controversy continues to rage about the “he said/he said” dynamic in Earl Spencer’s damning memoir – and whether Prince Harry knew (and, crucially approved) of the allegations in the book – there is, at least, the opportunity to draw light relief from something rather less consequential. It might seem strange to remember this, given the various other disasters in the world today, but Meghan Markle – now, of course, a resident in Britain once again – is continuing to run her As Ever brand. Even though she no longer has the backing of Netflix and her cursed With Love, Meghan television specials to promote it, it continues to be a going concern. Now, we have been treated to Meghan's dinner party hosting tips. They are neither profound nor revelatory.

Is Earl Spencer telling the truth about Charles III?

When Earl Spencer was interviewed by Larry King in 1997, he had nothing but words of praise for the-then Prince Charles, in the aftermath of Diana’s death and funeral. When Larry King asked if the Prince of Wales had had anything to say about Spencer’s fiery eulogy, his guest replied, “Not about the speech, no, but he was perfectly polite all day,” and went on to stress that, “Nothing nasty has ever been said about it by him to me.” Spencer attempted to claim that he was drawing a distinction between Charles as king and Charles as unpleasant brother-in-law.

Are Harry and Meghan set for a rebrand? According to Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, the couple's latest scheme is to recast themselves as Meghan and Harry Spencer, the maiden name of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. “What’s really interesting in the rebranding of the Sussexes is... that Meghan decided that her real objective in life was to be Diana," the author told GB News Tuesday. "Meghan went to the extent of suggesting that they should drop the name 'Windsor' and take the surname 'Spencer,' so she would be Meghan Spencer, the new Diana." https://twitter.com/GBNEWS/status/1671397543182213121?s=20 “They’ve actively discussed this," Bower continued. "Not only by themselves but with others too.

Why great speeches are made for stage and screen

Curious thing, writer’s block. If you believe it exists. Terry Pratchett didn’t. ‘There’s no such thing,’ he said. ‘It was invented by people in California who couldn’t write.’ He had a point. Writers write, period. But there is a syndrome in my house known as Not Starting Anything New Through Fear Of It Being Not Very Good. Less catchy than ‘writer’s block’, but arguably a more accurate description of the condition. My Covid-induced version of the above involved endlessly ‘honing’ an already completed play about my mother to devastatingly little effect and musing on the oldest creative question of all: is there a formula for writing success, and if so what is it?
