Zack Polanski was heckled by furious residents of Holborn and St Pancras at a Jewish community hustings this evening. The former breast-enhancer was met with boos and jeers as he repeated his claim that the war in Gaza amounts to a ‘genocide’ – and accused those in the room who disagreed of ‘making themselves less safe’.
At the hustings, hosted by the Board of Deputies, Polanski bent the knee to the Islamist and woke voters he is so desperate to charm by declaring himself an ‘anti-Zionist’. He told the North London room: ‘I’m an anti-Zionist. I think countries have always been ideas and I think things change over time.’ The audience responded with disgust.
There was, at least, some light comic relief amid nightmare Polanski’s ramblings. Hadley Freeman of The Times asked the Green leader about his previous comment that Jews only ‘perceive’ themselves to be unsafe – and, crucially, whether he could make her tits bigger. Polanski ignored the latter question. But the audience was not going to let him off the hook, with members shouting: ‘What about the tits?’
The scenes set the stage for Polanski finally to confirm his support for a Green conference motion declaring ‘Zionism is racism’. Of all the issues apparently crying out for the attention of Britain’s Greens, the motion topped the ballot for debate at the party’s far-left jamboree in Brighton next month. It is followed, naturally, by a series of motions concerning gender identity and the definition of a woman. Priorities, priorities…
