Watch: Lowe offers an alliance with Farage

Rupert Lowe

Best of Frenemies? Following the Greater Manchester mayoral by-election, Rupert Lowe, Reform MP turned Restore Britain leader, has made a big, open and comprehensive offer to Nigel Farage. In Manchester, Restore Britain received 46, 289 votes and pushed the Conservatives into fifth. Now, Lowe has publicly called on Farage to put ‘personal differences’ aside and unite their efforts to deliver a ‘patriotic government’.

Reflecting on his election as one of Reform’s five MPs in 2024, before his falling out with Farage saw him booted out of the party, Lowe suggests that ‘despite the events of the last 18 months’, he thinks there could be ‘sufficient common ground’ between the two movements to work together – as they have done on a local level – and see off the coming ‘left-wing alliance that will finish off what hope remains for this country’. Stirring stuff.

Will Farage play ball? Mr Steerpike has a bridge to sell you.
