Has Trump turned you into a masochist?

Welcome back to the Red Room, Democrats. On Thursday morning President Trump fired off a stream of consciousness tweet tinkering with the idea of delaying the election. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1288818160389558273 Imagine how your typical online Democrat seizes on that garbled statement. It’s a chance to release all her tension, under the guise of fighting a big bad tyrant. She feigns rage publicly — but deep down she is truly titillated. The President has created a class of masochists, and she is one of them. ‘Please daddy, don’t delay my election,’ she thinks, biting her lower lip as she taps out ‘#OrangeManBad’ on her keyboard and prepares to max out her donation to the Amy McGrath Senate campaign.

Virtual insanity

This week was originally slated to be the week of the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, when presumptive nominee Joe Biden would accept the nomination in the key battleground state of Wisconsin. Due to the pandemic, the convention has been postponed until August and subsequently moved to a smaller venue. Then, in June, DNC head Tom Perez announced that the entire convention would be transformed from a traditional physical gathering into a mostly virtual one with delegates and attendees connecting remotely in satellite locations across the country. While it's possible to hold the convention virtually, does doing so make it virtually impossible to hold a proper convention?Conventions are not just meant to be nomination galas with lots of balloons and drunk journalists.

Bill de Blasio unites cops and protesters — in disgust

New York City is crumbling into shambolic lawlessness and its citizens are growing more afraid and frustrated by the day. Why?Because Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio have once again proven to be categorically incompetent leaders incapable of working effectively together in a time of crisis. On Tuesday, the Governor was forced to confront the glaring issue that the state’s top concern had shifted from COVID prevention to the demolition of its biggest metropolis by unruly riots. During his daily press conference, Cuomo took the opportunity to chastise the Mayor and the NYPD for the turmoil, calling Mayor de Blasio’s handling of it a ‘disgrace’.

Joe Biden’s campaign has set feminism back decades

As we inch closer to the Democratic National Convention in August, the question looms ever larger: who will Joe Biden choose as his running mate? Running mates are usually chosen to inoculate the party’s ticket from a vulnerability. in 2008, for instance, Sen. Biden was the career statesman running mate chosen to cover for Barack Obama’s inexperience. In 2016, Mike Pence was the evangelical bonafide Republican picked to help Donald Trump the outsider. Biden’s team knows he must pick someone who will act as a human shield against his biggest issue: women.

The Stacey Abrams presidency

‘You don’t run for second place.’ That’s how Stacey Abrams responded when asked if she would consider being presidential hopeful Joe Biden’s running mate during a March 2019 interview on ABC’s The View. Annoyed at the posed hypothetical, the 2018 Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate’s answer lacked a basic understanding of her place in the Democratic party. But now, a short year later, Abrams is making it abundantly clear to anyone who is willing to listen: she is absolutely, passionately and gracelessly running for second place, so help her God.
