Libbing out with Alan Dershowitz at the ‘Sammies’

Usually, the panel section of a black-tie awards dinner is the least lively part of the evening. Honorees praise and agree with each other, soundtracked by the clinks of forks as guests cautiously push salad around their plates. Not so at RealClear’s third Samizdat Awards, AKA the Sammies, which took place at the Breakers in Palm Beach Wednesday. Things started off sedately, with Turning Point USA’s Andrew Kolvet talking about Charlie Kirk, on whose behalf he received the Samizdat Prize. Next, Irish comedy writer Graham Linehan discussed the repercussions he’d faced in Britain for his trans-critical views, for which he garnered sympathy from the room’s guests, who largely trended right-of-center. Then it was Alan Dershowitz’s turn.

Exclusive: GOP questions health officials on Project Veritas’s Pfizer bombshell

A group of Republican congressmen and senators sent a letter to top US government health officials on Monday demanding answers on recent claims about "directed evolution" research made by a Pfizer employee during an undercover sting operation. A copy of the letter, which was sent to Health and Human Services secretary Xavier Becerra, Food and Drug Administration commissioner Robert Califf, and National Institutes of Health acting director Lawrence Tabak, was obtained by The Spectator. Senators Mike Lee, Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson, and Representatives Chip Roy, Andy Biggs, Greg Steube, Eric Burlison, Bill Posey, Mary Miller, Lauren Boebert and Bob Good all signed the letter.

Inside the James O’Keefe ouster at Project Veritas

The old adage goes that there are two sides to every story, and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. There doesn’t seem to be a better way to describe the recent turmoil at Project Veritas, the conservative journalism organization known for its undercover sting operations. Project Veritas’s founder and CEO James O’Keefe resigned from his post a little over a week ago after the non-profit's board of directors placed him on unpaid leave pending an investigation for alleged financial malfeasance and abuse of staff.

Project Veritas is being punished for practicing journalism

It used to be called the "New York Times Problem." It asks at what point does the First Amendment stop protecting journalists against the receipt of stolen property, particularly classified documents. “The Problem” stems originally from the Pentagon Papers, a classified history of the Vietnam War stolen by Daniel Ellsberg and handed over to the Times and later others. The government sought prison time for reporters and editors but failed. What once threatened the Times has now been turned directly against Project Veritas, Ashley Biden's diary, and perhaps Julian Assange as well.

The Trinity School gets its anti-woke comeuppance

The Trinity School in New York City was founded in 1709 by William Huddleston to instruct the children of poor parishioners of Trinity Church, located at the top of Wall Street. The school ceased its affiliation with the Episcopal Church 1968, though it still has an Episcopal priest, salaried by the Church, to conduct its weekly chapel services. Trinity is the fifth oldest school in the United States and the oldest in New York in terms of continuous operation. I myself was enrolled at Trinity in all twelve grades. I received a top-flight education at Trinity in the 1950s and '60s from a superb faculty most of whom I recall with respect and in many cases real affection, as I do the school itself.

Slanging matches at the CPAC Texas carnival

The circus came to Dallas this weekend with a who's-who of Adderall-ridden e-celebrities for the Texas edition of Conservative Political Action Conference. The scandalous former Olympian-turned-California gubernatorial recall candidate Caitlyn Jenner faced harassment on Saturday while making her way through the conference in a viral video. A heckler calls the transgender politician by her former name, Bruce, and shouts, 'What do you think about the stuff they're teaching schools about LGBT? Don't forget about Jesus!' 'Look at that sick freak! Why do people want a picture with him,' the man recording the video asks. 'Why do we want a picture with a tranny?

Laura Elizabeth Loomer enters a diner in Burbank with a designer bag slung over her shoulder, wearing glammed-up eyeshadow, her Fox News-blonde hair dyed Transylvanian-black like her eyebrows. She orders black coffee and crispy bacon. She looks she’s attending her own funeral. Coffee with Laura is a cardinal sin in today’s interbred media clubhouse. The young woman from Arizona’s suburbs, at 25, has ripped a hole through the internet and fallen right through it. She’s now banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Uber, Lyft, Venmo, PayPal, GoFundMe, Medium, Teespring and — for harassing other journalists — the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). I ask her if she can ever again be normal.
