Jeffrey Epstein had the diet of a sick man

Comb through Jeffrey Epstein’s emails and you find frequent correspondence with his private chef Francis Derby about “beef jerky.” Online sleuths have speculated that it is a code word for something more sinister. We know Epstein was a sexual predator, but what if he literally preyed on human flesh? After all, Derby cooked at a restaurant called the Cannibal. Make of that what you will. I can’t quite bring myself to believe Epstein was devouring the teenagers he trafficked, but he did seem to have the eating habits of one. He was picky, entitled and equally fond of fad diets and junk food. He substituted Sweet’N Low for sugar in his morning coffee, while eating takeout pasta from Caravaggio and burgers from J.G. Melon for dinner.

Has QAnon been vindicated?

QAnon is the online movement spawned by Q, a poster on the anonymous message board 4chan. In October 2017, they began leaving a series of gnomic posts riven with strange imagery – “drops.” Claiming to be a US official with a high-level security clearance, Q informed fellow users that the United States was secretly controlled by a clique of pedophiles and traitors encompassing much of the Democratic party and the intelligence services. But Donald Trump, who had recently been elected president, was alive to the danger. With the aid of friendly “deep state” elements, Trump was working behind the scenes in a grand effort (“The Plan”) to expose the cabal that would culminate in a day of action (“The Storm”) in which its members would be arrested and executed.

Candace Owens: on the Macron lawsuit, anti-Semitism and Trump

Candace Owens joined Freddy Gray on the Americano show last Friday to discuss her recent lawsuit with the Macrons, Trump's intervention, the Epstein Files and accusations of anti-Semitism. Here are some highlights from their conversation. Why did Macron and his wife sue Candace Owens? Freddy Gray: Candace is being sued or threatened with legal action by the Macrons, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, the President and First Lady of France. Because, Candace, you believe that Brigitte Macron is a man. Why do you think the Macrons are choosing to sue you? Candace Owens: Because they were trying to stop the story. I think it was an effective PR strategy.

Is this the end of the Jeffrey Epstein case?

The death of the financier and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein at Manhattan’s notorious Metropolitan Correction Center has been ruled to be a suicide, and one that took place entirely by Epstein’s own hand, without any external interference. At least, that’s the story according to the Department of Justice and the FBI, who have also announced for good measure that the so-called Epstein Files, which supposedly contained the details of his high-profile clients, do not exist. After the disappointment of the decidedly low-profile release of the JFK-assassination files earlier this year, this is a second blow for conspiracy theorists who have been assured by the government that there is definitely, 100 percent nothing to see here. Will this be enough for them?

When Ann Coulter met Jeffrey Epstein…

In an interview last week with Breitbart News Tonight, Ann Coulter revealed a curious episode from her past in which she met Jeffrey Epstein. Coulter recalled Epstein picking her up in a limousine and taking her to his Manhattan townhome. She was so creeped out by the encounter that she later asked to be dropped off two blocks from her own home. Cockburn has acquired the transcript of Coulter's story. ANN COULTER: I had my own encounter with Jeffrey Epstein, and before I give you this little vignette: very important that I tell you something. All of my friends know I have absolutely no radar on freaks, on weird people. I'm a terrible judge of character.

We’ll never know the truth about Jeffrey Epstein

Jeffrey Epstein killed himself, he did his sex crimes in private and no one who associated with him – much less visited his properties, including his Little Saint James private island, need be investigated or charged. That’s the FBI’s latest version of events, announced this morning, after an apparently lengthy investigation of the dead financier’s belongings.  “This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.’ There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties,” the FBI statement said.

Elon Musk kisses the ring

"I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far," Elon Musk wrote on X at 3 a.m., after six days of soul-searching. Since this wee-hours confession from the onetime right-hand man of the President of the United States, several of Musk's most searing posts about Trump from last Thursday have vanished from the internet – though screenshots are forever. Looking for Musk's post alleging that the President was connected to the sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein? Now you'll see, "Hmm...this page doesn’t exist." Based on the X CEO's track record on the topic, Cockburn thinks "Godwin's Law" could use a variation.

Release the Epstein Files — all of them

From the time I was first falsely accused of having sexual contact with someone I never heard of, I asked that every bit of evidence relating to Jeffrey Epstein be disclosed. Indeed, I wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal asking the FBI to open a criminal investigation of me so that I could prove beyond any doubt that the charges were made up. I agreed to waive any and all privileges if such an investigation were conducted. I continue to demand that every bit of evidence be disclosed, because I know with 100 percent certainty that the evidence, if completely produced without exceptions, exculpates me, for the simple reason that I did nothing wrong. But much of the evidence has been withheld — and for no good reason. Only the guilty are protected by the withholding of evidence.

Natalie Rupnow and the blight of ‘virtual molestation’

This Monday, a fifteen-year-old named Natalie Rupnow murdered Erin M. West, a substitute teacher, and fourteen-year-old Rubi P. Vergara, a fellow student, injuring six others — two critically — at her school in Madison, Wisconsin. Before the police could intervene, Rupnow shot herself. It is not a bold prediction to say that this tragedy will not meaningfully shift our national conversation. These events blur together in the American psyche, like car crashes, their horror dulled by repetition. That Rupnow was female and younger than the median age of school shooters does not disrupt the pattern. It is — to my increasing horror, every time I write an article like this one — another story in our endless churn of violence.

Exclusive: Prosecutor defends plea deal for trans daycare molester

The prosecutor who signed off on the plea deal in the case of a transgender daycare worker who sexually abused an infant says he believes the “sentence that the defendant served was appropriate for what could be proven in court.”  “The defendant pled guilty to sexual misconduct and received a sentence of twelve months," McCracken County Commonwealth’s attorney Dan Boaz told The Spectator in an exclusive statement. "The defendant served over 300 days in jail, primarily in solitary confinement, prior to entering the guilty plea. As the case developed, there were contradictions as sometimes happens and a plea bargain was entered. As stated, the defendant served over 300 days in jail.

DeSantis should talk about Jeffrey Epstein

Ron DeSantis's choice to enter the presidential stakes with a Twitter Spaces conversation is unusual. Odder still is the news that he will do so in an interview conducted by Elon Musk, and a discussion moderated by David Sacks. There are so many questions here: the most obvious being, "why did you choose to roll out with a pair of wealthy tech investors from the PayPal Mafia, known as much for their accomplishments as for their eccentricities?" But here is also the question about the questions: what will DeSantis be asked? One question that might come up given the Very Online nature of this interview concerns one figure whose connections to the billionaire and political class have proven so embarrassing for those in power: Jeffrey Epstein.

Shouldn’t the Justin Roiland controversy be bigger?

This week it was reported that Justin Roiland, the co-creator and star of the smash-hit animated sitcom Rick and Morty, is facing two felony domestic charges in Orange County related to an incident in January 2020. According to court records, Roiland is charged with “domestic battery with corporal injury” and one count of “false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud, and/or deceit.” Some documents related to the incident are sealed, meaning the full details of his case aren’t publicly available — but if convicted, Roiland could face several years in prison. Shortly following this news, several women online accused Roiland of online harassment. And not just harassment, but bona fide creep behavior.

The craziness of the Kevin Spacey misconduct trial

An antihero, an allegation, a court case, a neo-Nazi. The Kevin Spacey trial has been a hell of a ride and it's barely begun. This week, Spacey has taken the stand as the first witness in his own defense in his sexual misconduct trial, brought forward by actor Anthony Rapp. Best known for his role in Star Trek: Discovery, Rapp claims that in 1986, Spacey, who was twenty-six at the time, invited Rapp, then fourteen, to his New York home. He alleges that Spacey picked him up, laid him down on his bed, grabbed his buttocks and pressed his groin into his body without his consent. Rapp first made his allegation in October 2017. In the eyes of the public, Spacey went from antihero to villain.

What @LibsOfTikTok exposed

Any number of stories could be written about Taylor Lorenz, the Washington Post journalist who covers internet culture. Lorenz — who yesterday raised the hackles of social media for publishing a story revealing the identity of the person behind popular right-wing Twitter account @LibsOfTikTok — is a not merely the chronicler of our too-online age but its fascinating byproduct. Yet the most basic question about this story has been lost in a sea of drama: what, if anything, has this formerly nameless woman done to deserve having her identity exposed? If you ask Lorenz, such coverage is warranted because LibsOfTikTok has “become a powerful cross-platform social media influencer, spreading anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment and fueling the right wing media’s outrage machine.

Prince Andrew must answer to America

The Duke of York is heading to a New York courthouse. US District Court Judge Lewis A. Kaplan ruled today that Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s lawsuit against Prince Andrew may proceed as a matter of law. Ms. Giuffre’s victory means the judge finds her claims legally cognizable. As the case moves into civil discovery, Ms. Giuffre must prove all the relevant facts she alleges to be true. Prince Andrew has denied all Ms. Giuffre’s claims. In a 2021 lawsuit filed in New York’s federal courts, Giuffre sued Andrew for committing battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Ghislaine is guilty — who’s next?

After five days of deliberation spanning the Christmas holiday, a federal jury in the Southern District of New York today found Ghislaine Noelle Marion Maxwell guilty of five of six counts of human trafficking for her actions over ten years in multiple US states.

When child abuse was avant-garde

Last month the New Yorker published an essay about a grotesque experiment that took place in West Germany in the 1970s, in which young boys who had been taken from, or abandoned by, their parents were placed with known pedophiles. It was no accident. It was quite deliberate. The powerful sexologist Helmet Kentler believed that pedophilic guardianship would foster an open and unashamed attitude towards sex that would preclude the development of fascistic attitudes. As the New Yorker says: ’Kentler’s goal was to develop a child-rearing philosophy for a new kind of German man. Sexual liberation, he wrote, was the best way to “prevent another Auschwitz.”’ A sensible reader could guess what happened to the boys.

The Vatican’s McCarrick report is a shameful whitewash

On Tuesday the Vatican published its long-delayed report on the subject of ex-cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the insatiable sexual predator who served as archbishop of Washington from 2001 to 2006 but continued to wield huge influence in the Catholic Church until 2018, when he was finally exposed by the media and forced to resign as a cardinal.Less than a week later, it’s becoming clear that the document is a laborious but clumsy whitewash. Let me explain why.The ostensible purpose of the 500-page report was to explain how McCarrick rose to high episcopal office despite the fact that his beach-house assaults on seminarians were common knowledge among US bishops and Vatican officials for decades. And this it succeeded in doing, more or less.

Netflix’s Cuties culture

Can our culture sink any lower? I thought we had hit rock bottom when the new Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion song 'WAP' — an acronym for 'wet ass pussy' — was hailed as a beacon of female empowerment and critics were labeled misogynistic prudes. Then, Netflix announced it was adding the French film Cuties to its streaming service with a promotional photo that blatantly sexualized 11-year-old girls. I am normally a vocal opponent of cancel culture, but I am willing to make an exception for Netflix.

Pedophiles, politics and the fantasies of the Left

In Mother Jones, Zohar Lazar posits that the recent spate of pedophilia conspiracies are merely a reactionary response to a changing social order. As progressive policies take hold in America, the conservative fringe, Zohar claims, is freaking out by inventing false conspiracies about secret pedophilia rings. But it’s not all fantasy. A decades-long progressive policy push for the loosening of sexual taboos and legal constraints has drastic implications for children’s rights and safety.
