It was a matter of some disappointment to me that Kanye West was barred entry to this country as a person not conducive to the public good. Millions of people have arrived here in the past 20 years and, unlike Kanye, have no intention of leaving. I am not sure what proportion of them are ‘conducive to the public good’. As a kind of fascistic Little Englander, I would hazard a guess at about 8 per cent, so quite why we singled out Kanye I am not sure. Of course, he courted a little controversy with his exciting song ‘Heil Hitler’.
No truth, beauty or insight has ever been revealed in a rap song
Kanye also divested himself of some anti-Semitic observations via technology’s equivalent of rap music, Twitter. But if we are banning people from the UK because they are anti-Semitic then we should take a closer look at some of the five million who have arrived here since 2012. We have made a speciality of importing anti-Semitism and continue to do so open-heartedly, looking on with benign indulgence, when this mindset is manifested by these people daubing obscenities on Jewish graves or stalking and attacking Jewish people or marching through London howling abuse about Jews. At least ol’ Kanye just sang a little song about it all and – as rap’s most lauded exponent among dim-witted white liberals – revealed the staggering lack of wit, talent and musicality in this godawful genre, with all its moronic, violent offshoots, its hilarious pretensions. No truth, beauty or insight has ever been revealed in a rap song – although one might of course make an exception for the Akinyele featuring Kia Jeffries hit from 1996 and its rousing chorus of:
Put it in my mouth (She said put it in her mouth)
I said my motherf***in’ mouth (I mean her motherf***in’ mouth)
Put it in my mouth (She said put it in her mouth)
My motherf***in’ mouth (I mean her motherf***in’ mouth)
It’s a kind of spicy and vibrant update on ‘Some Enchanted Evening’, isn’t it? You can almost imagine France Nuyen crooning it to John Kerr on Bali Hai.
Anyway, what impressed me most was Kanye’s excuse for the Jew-bashing stuff, which was that he was bipolar. It was those awful mood swings which made him evoke Adolf Hitler and display a genocidal loathing of Jewish people. The obvious riposte is to say no, Kanye, or Ye, or whatever you’re calling yourself: depression, even manic depression, doesn’t make you an anti-Semite. You make you an anti-Semite. And yet this defence must have struck a chord, surely. Because in the weird hierarchy constructed by stupid white liberals, whose vacant and counter-rational ideology continues to rule our society, being mental absolves you from almost everything. Even if you are not actually mental. And being black and mental? Woah. Bafta, MBE, chat show on the BBC – at the least.
Which brings us very neatly to Axel Rudakubana and his murder of those three little girls in Southport in the summer of 2024. The inquiry into this piece of filth concluded firstly that his parents were responsible for not having alerted the authorities to the violent and deranged tendencies of their beloved offspring. Yes, sure. Deport them, kick them out of the country. I have no objection to that, although of course it won’t happen. But two points occur. First, that one might expect parents to be a little defensive about their children. More important though is the fact that it wasn’t principally the parents’ fault: it was really the fault of the British state and the ideological agenda under which it went about its business. It was the lethality of wokeness, or progressivism, writ large, in letters of blood.
As we learned from the inquiry, being autistic kind of excused Rudakubana from being responsible for his actions: he was not a threat. He was instead a vulnerable person, a Person of Need. His violent tendencies – long documented – did not require a straitjacket and some ECT, but understanding and compassion and latitude. And so he was never properly monitored, still less brought in for some kind of evaluation which might have concluded that he was, as the Americans say, crazier than a shithouse rat and homicidal to boot.
The inquiry noted the number of times he had been caught a) with murderous weapons and b) with homicidal intentions. And yet the derogation ‘autistic’ counted in his favour. Just as it does if you want to not work for a living. If you are autistic you are deprived of agency, you have no willpower, you have no moral compass, you are incapable of work and not remotely responsible for your actions. This template was accepted by every agency which came into contact with Rudakubana. As someone who was somewhere on the very fashionable autistic spectrum he was ‘vulnerable’ rather than murderous. And so he was never brought to book. A mental illness today absolves you from everything. It even absolves you from stuff which might be a direct consequence of being mentally ill – or, sorry, living with a problematic neurological condition.
Then there are the authorities which dealt with the murderous cretin. It was reported that the great interest he showed in extremist, terrorist, Islamist sites should never have been denied to him because that would have constituted a tyranny against freedom of expression. Ha. How wonderfully ironic. I will bet that if he had signed up to a Tommy Robinson website or even a Reform UK website, they would have been appalled and immediately treated him as a threat. Because, of course, it is the right that presents the greatest threat to British people. Not Islamism. Not mentals. Just people who are perhaps right of centre.
