Downing Street this afternoon refused to condemn prize idiot Diane Abbott for spreading ridiculous conspiracy theories about Nato. In a rant about defence spending, the far-left, newly reinstated Labour MP claimed: ‘The imminent threat from Russia is a NATO fiction to justify their complete capitulation to Trump’s demands for more military spending. The increase should not go ahead.’
Abbott, of course, has form in this area. Just last month, she called the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine ‘the NATO campaign against Russia’. Sir Keir Starmer even withdrew the whip after she compared antisemitism to someone being teased for having ginger hair. But upon his return to power Burnham rolled out the red carpet and let her right on back in.
So does the Prime Minister have the balls to call out her anti-Western ramblings? Of course not. Asked about the remarks, No. 10 refused to comment.
The Tories, however, were less impressed by Abbott’s antics. MP Ben Obese-Jecty accused her of ‘wilfully playing the role of Putin’s useful idiot’. He said: ‘To rail against increased defence spending by claiming the threat Russia pose is “a NATO fiction” shows she is dangerously out of touch.’
