The Lincoln Project tries to Bud Light Dr. Pepper

The Lincoln Project, a disgraced PAC launched in 2019 “to defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box” and “to ensure Trumpism failed alongside him,” has a new mission: take down Dr. Pepper for advertising on Fox News. Having seemingly taken inspiration from the Bud Light/Dylan Mulvaney boycott that’s seen conservatives abandon the beloved beer brand in droves, the Lincoln Project called out “Texas’s favorite soft drink” on Twitter, scolding: “Your motto is ‘Drink Well. Do Good.’ Your goal is to ‘make a positive impact with every drink.’ Yet you continue to advertise on Fox News, a network committed to telling lies and degrading our public discourse. Time to live up to your promise and drop Fox.

Showtime lets the Lincoln Project off the hook

From our UK edition

Showtime’s latest docuseries follows the Lincoln Project, the anti-Trump Super PAC, during the end of the 2020 campaign as the organization blew up in notoriety. The series displays the shallowness within modern day American politics. What starts as a hero’s journey, with former Republican consultants disavowing the racism of the GOP, proves to be more of a Greek tragedy as one-by-one they ultimately become everything they claimed to hate. The show centers around Lincoln Project co-founders — Reed Galen, Jennifer Horn, Mike Madrid, Ron Steslow, Steve Schmidt and Rick Wilson — as well as principal members of the organization such as Keith Edwards, Sarah Lenti, Conor Rogers, Stuart Stevens and Ryan Wiggins.
