Massie hysteria: CR holdout branded ‘Congress’s Keith Olbermann’ President Donald Trump and House Republicans have seemingly written off their maverick colleague Congressman Thomas Massie for any help when it comes to funding the government. The party is wrangling with Massie over his opposition to the latest continuing resolution, which would avoid a government shutdown if passed. “I’m not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget (cut-copy-paste omnibus) this week. Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DoGE has found?” Massie explained. “It’s oppositional defiance disorder,” one veteran House Republican staffer speculated. “He is Congress’s Keith Olbermann — who was sued by Al Gore and fired by Rupert Murdoch.

Trump floats taking back Panama Canal

President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday gave his first rally speech since winning the 2024 presidential election, delivering the keynote address at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference for young conservatives. The former and future president spoke for more than an hour and made plenty of headlines with his suggestion that the United States take back control of the Panama Canal, a rejection of the Democrat attack that he is a shadow puppet of billionaire Elon Musk, and a renewed promise of his second-term priorities.

It would appear some people are above the law

“In this country, no one is above the law” has become a rallying mantra of both our national media and increasing, the Democratic Party (but is there a difference, really?). Attorney General Merrick Garland used this phrase on 60 Minutes this past Sunday, as did President Joe Biden during a friendly kid glove chat with ProPublica reporter John Harwood. As justification for pursuing more than ninety indictments on several fronts against former president Donald Trump, on everything from electioneering to housing classified documents, the left has pounded the tables on the rule of law being the most important foundational principal to the survival of the Republic itself.
