Several high-priced journalists have begun experimenting with selling themselves instead of a corporate media brand. Chris Cillizza and Mark Halperin have both started Substack ventures without having the branding back-up of CNN or Bloomberg. The pair follow in the footsteps of Megyn Kelly, who has been enormously successful in launching her own brand. Don Lemon has been confined to social media as well.Last year, Washington Post tech reporter Taylor Lorenz left corporate media behind to create her own outlet, although I would argue her audience and branding were separate from that of the Post.

That question has been on many lips throughout the duration of President Joe Biden’s term, and has been asked even more often since his decision to stand aside as Democratic nominee in July. Perhaps the White House itself offers some visual clues to the answer: a source who has been heading in for transition meetings with the outgoing administration notes that virtually all of the jumbo portraits inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue feature Vice President Kamala Harris — visiting foreign countries, making speeches and the like. Farewell to Chris Cillizza, king of the Twitter ratios

Twitter Ratio King Chris Cillizza joined his friends Chris Cuomo, Brian Stelter and former boss Jeff Zucker in the long line of dismissed CNN employees on Thursday. While Cillizza may still offer up heaped dishes of bad takes on social media, he will no longer be doing so under the banner of the supposed new direction of CNN under CEO Chris Licht. What exactly do people like me mean when we call Cillizza the "Ratio King”? The ratio is what happens on Twitter when the number of comments on a tweet vastly outweighs its likes, retweets and quote tweets, meaning people are criticizing the tweet far more than endorsing it. And Cillizza, who may have accidentally even given birth to this unit of measurement, has owned the mantle for years now.

The media suddenly notices the CDC is clueless

For over a year, the national news media has held up the CDC and its director, Rochelle Walensky, as paragons of public health. It's no coincidence they've now suddenly had a moment of clarity as it pertains to the CDC adjusting its pandemic protocols. This epiphany is happening primarily at CNN, with ratio king Chris Cillizza coming around to reality on Twitter and declaring that blue staters, journalists, and Democratic politicians catching Covid isn’t a moral failing and shouldn’t be shamed (the Washington Post made a similar statement). This past Sunday, CNN hall monitors Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy actually went after the CDC, saying it appears the agency has become “a punchline.” That segment also featured Dr.

How conservatives sustain CNN

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is on a publicity tour to cover up his disastrous handling of the COVID-19 crisis in New York and point the finger at red state governors for managing it differently. Puff pieces on his administration have appeared in People magazine and on the website for the governor’s favorite television station, CNN.  Chris Cillizza’s interview with Cuomo did not include any mention of the fact that the New York death rate was not just the highest in the country but one of the highest in the world. That a significant portion of New York’s population dying from the virus can be considered a win for the governor is a true liberal privilege.  Cillizza let Cuomo say absurd things like ‘We tested both theories. We have the evidence. It's numbers. It's irrefutable.
