The end is AI: the August issue of The Spectator coming soon

Artificial intelligence can be an elusive topic for good journalism. Everybody wants to talk about it; nobody has much to say. Yet it is the biggest – and potentially scariest – subject of our time. We are hurtling towards potentially the biggest technological shift in history and nobody knows quite what to do about it. That’s why we have decided to make AI the focus of our August edition. We believe it’s another gem. Inside, we have Marc Warner, CEO of the AI company Faculty, warning that we may be on the cusp of developing an alien intelligence far beyond our control. Rachel Tyrell (a pseudonym) looks at the furious race between tech moguls to reach the super-intelligence finish line.

Little-known singer keeps hating on Taylor Swift’s ex Matty Healy for clout

You’d think that British-Japanese singer Rina Sawayama would muster up some new material for her concerts. Instead, for the second time in a month, she took the opportunity to “call out” 1975 frontman Matty Healy on stage, for laughing at a joke somebody else made months ago. How 2023! During her set at NOS Alive in Portugal on Saturday, Sawayama went on a rant during her performance of “STFU!,” her song about “dealing with microaggressions.”  “So I’ve been thinking a lot about apologies. Isn’t it funny how some people get away with not apologizing ever?” she said. “For saying some racist shit, for saying some sexist shit? So let’s try this: why don’t you apologize for once in your life without making it about your fucking self?

Taylor Swift dumps British man, again

Swifties rejoice! Or, at least, stop self-harming. Taylor Swift and 1975 singer Matt Healy are officially over. A friend close to the couple told TMZ that Taylor is in fact "single" again. It's still unclear exactly why they've now split up. A source told Entertainment Tonight that: "Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other. "The source added that "Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship." It was a pretty wild romance. Just last month, Matty was spotted at all three of Swift's Nashville concerts.

Is Taylor Swift the problem?

Pop superstar Taylor Swift is in the middle of a PR crisis as her fans overwhelmingly disapprove of her new beau, Matty Healy, the lead singer of English rock band the 1975. Healy has been attending Swift's concerts and the pair have been spotted several times kissing and holding hands in public.
